Narrow Aisle Lift trucks
Some forklifts are specially designed to fit down very narrow aisles in a warehouse. These models are known as narrow aisle lift trucks. They could easily negotiate smaller aisles and enable you to enjoy some benefits. Like for instance, the increased amount of area to keep objects can really increase a company's overall available stock.

Narrow aisle lift trucks are able to maneuver easily too. These machinery have been particularly engineered to move without a lot of space. Their different design has eliminated a lot of the things which are squished up into the main body of the traditional lift truck design.

These lift trucks are very slow in comparison to standard lift trucks which is amongst their key drawbacks. If you have to move items across large areas, the narrow aisle lift truck is not the best. In terms of speed they will not be a dependable option. If you also have a standard forklift, this will not be a problem. You can just use the narrow aisle lift truck to transport the load to a central place and then hand it off to a standard lift truck that can travel the bulk of the distance in an efficient and timely manner. Frequently, narrow aisle lift trucks cannot handle as much lifting weight; thus, outside of smaller loads they would not be very effective.

Electric Forklifts
For indoor operations like stores or inside warehouses, conventional gas lift trucks are not a suitable alternative. They will not be as safe due to their fumes, or as cost-efficient or helpful than an electric powered model. Electric forklifts are normally designed to function and look a lot like gas ones, but they depend on electric batteries that should be recharged, instead of gasoline fuel.

Electric forklifts are common for a range of reasons. For starters, they will save you a lot of money on fuel expenses. Initially, electric models may cost more but over time, they make up for this in the long run. Like for example, when gas prices go up, you will save a lot of cash as you would not be affected. Electric models tend to last quite a bit longer compared to gas powered units as well. This is partly due to the fact they are mostly used inside and thus don't get as dirty or work in as harsh environments as the gas powered models. Electric models are healthier to utilize in poorly ventilated areas such as warehouses and indoor operations since they don't emit noxious fumes. It could be really dangerous to use diesel or gas lift trucks indoors.

Amongst the major downsides to electric lift trucks is the fact they can generally just work for one 8 hour shift before the battery needs to be charged for another shift. Lots of businesses get around this situation by purchasing an extra battery so they could have less downtime and continually cycle them. There are fast charge batteries available on the market that are also reducing the charging time.
