How to Charge a Scissor Lift
There is a great ease when utilizing a scissor lift, as the convenience of working and the lift basket's security gives peace of mind while attempting to carry out tasks that would have otherwise required utilizing the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this specific machinery make it the right option for completing tasks from heights.
Most scissor lifts are powered electrically by batteries that have been mounted directly onto the machinery. These batteries would need to be charged after a long shift or after sitting for extended periods without use. It is an easy task to charge the batteries. This can be carried out without any particular tools or equipment and requires no heavy labor.
The machine has to be positioned next to an electrical output so as to prepare the scissor lift for charging. This charging area should also be in a well-ventilated place. Next, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button situated in the basket of the lift, near the control box or the charger. Find the battery charger on the base of the lift on the right side. Often, older models would have the charger mounted on the rear of the lift.
Next, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be certain you are charging in a place which is well ventilated and after that plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. In order to avoid accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any excess length were to drop out of the battery charger storage area when in use, extreme danger can potentially take place.
