Aisle Types
Lift trucks are classified due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn in the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to consider with various units.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet places, while some will utilize specific guidance systems like rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel in the aisles. Several different models of VNA trucks consist of Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are popular models in tight retail areas and in several warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks can operate in aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Normally these are stand-up units like for example Reach Trucks. They are usually used within warehouses and storage facilities.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work within aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard that is made to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the operator is spacious and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest together with a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and thus more productive while limiting fatigue.
