Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run from LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many applications. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the machine must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should really be careful so as to prevent possible serious injuries. Like for instance: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment such as heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Turn off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
