In the year 1842, Inventor Jerome Increase Case established Case in Racine. He began making threshing machines. The business later gained international recognition as the first maker of steam engines for its agricultural use. By the year 1912, Case had become established in the construction machine business. The quickly started to produce road building equipment such as steam rollers and graders. Case grew their construction machine company through various acquisitions, starting with the American Tractor Corporation in 1957. Case had expanded their company by the middle part of the 1990s to become the leading maker of light-sized to medium-sized construction machinery.
In 1999, Case merged with New Holland to become CNH Global. This company became responsible for advertising some of the globe's leading brands of agricultural and construction machinery.
